A half day walk to see a local side of Oslo

Experience/Discover/Active

Instead of taking the tram direct to Frognerparken (housing the famous Vigelandsparken) take some time to discover the nice and upperclass neighbourhood of Majorstuen.  On the way you’ll walk past grand Oslo homes, including many embassies, many nice cafes, resturants and shops.

Walk through the Palace grounds at the top of Karl Johan’s gate.  Around here are many emabssies and grand homes.  Navigate to Bogstadveien and walk all the way up until you hit Kirkeveien, where the Majorstuen subway (T-bane) station is.  Then walk to the left down Kirkeveien and you’ll find Frognerparken on your left.

After a visit here you could walk back downt he the city through Frognerveien; hop on a bus to Bydoy island, or take the tram from Majorstuen up to Holmenkollen or even to the very end of the line at Frognerseteren for an amazing view over the city and then walk down and around the hill through a forest to Holmenkollen, then tram back into the city centre.
