Orvelte – walk back in time to a preserved Drenthe village

A great parents day out – visit Orvelte which is an old Dutch village which has preserved it’s way of life from old times.  This includes it’s own cheese maker, sheap shearer, glass blower and other artisans.  There is a market in the weekends (we were there on a Sunday) and several nice cafe/restaurants.  Also while we were there was a band.  It drew a mostly older crowd, but it certainly had a really nice charm to it, and my Mum was very pleased with the outing.
