Paris

Paris is a great city in many senses, but there is much more to it than meets the eye.

OUR FAVORITES

  • Brunch

    To be added

  • Hang-out spots

    – Sacre Coeur

  • A night out

The main issue when it comes to nightlife in Paris (beside covers and drink prices) is to get IN.
The general rules is to have at lest 50% girls in your group and were decent clothes. Then the fancier the club the fancier the clothes need to be.

Below I’ve listed my favorites spots for early night, in those places you can enter regardless of your Male to Female ratio and fashion style.
    – le comptoir general
    – café Prune
    – Le Coq
    – JOSÉPHINE – CAVES PARISIENNES

Then as the night goes on:
    – the rue Oberkampf and the adjacent streets offer many bars and pubs
    – L’Alimentation General
    – café des antiquaries
    – The Pigale area is a good alternative for a night out

Party in the Pigale Area

Party in the Pigale Area

The Pigale area is a good alternative for a night out. Beside the Moulin Rouge and other cabaret you’ll find a bunch of strip clubs and other dodgy places that I would definitively not recommend. But once passed the strangeness of that red light stuff, you’ll find some good places. First, the best capirinias I…

café des antiquaires – cool bar and people

By on October 13, 2013. Posted in .

Last but must do, the latest “cool place” to go is the bar “café des antiquaires”. That’s really the brand new up and coming place, cheap drinks, good music and great decoration. The population make most of the experience. Again few cocktail dresses and short skirt (this is not London) but definitively hip. Again a…

L’Alimentation General – Late night live music

L’Alimentation General – Late night live music

By on October 13, 2013. Posted in .

L’Alimentation General has good and bad nights, depending on what’s up on stage (live music place). Quite alternative. Go there after 10 pm and check out the line up first. It’s usually a good and original alternative to a night club. 64 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 75011 Paris, France   In the same area, “le nouveau…

Enjoy bars at night – Rue Oberkampf

Enjoy bars at night – Rue Oberkampf

Then as the night goes on, the rue Oberkampf and the adjacent streets offer many bars and pubs. L’international is a great spot if you’re looking for lively/partying people. The basement features live electronic music. Go before 10-11pm to avoid queuing and get out when it gets too crowded. Again, this whole area is quite…

Cocktail bars – Le Coq and JOSÉPHINE – CAVES PARISIENNES

Cocktail bars – Le Coq and JOSÉPHINE – CAVES PARISIENNES

Walking distance from Canal St Martin and Cafe Prune/Comptior le General:  two nice 10-12 euro cocktail bars (for later on) 1.)  Quite fancy: Le Coq (if you want to sit) (see picture above) 2.)  My favorite, but hard to get a sit JOSÉPHINE – CAVES PARISIENNES. Good music, good cocktails, hot people.                …

Cafe Prune – glass of wine

Cafe Prune – glass of wine

Nearby Le Comptoir General is café Prune, a classy spot on Canal St Martin where people who wants to be seen get a terrace and a café or glass of wine. I wouldn’t stay after than 9-10 pm. This is a place to sit only.   Address: 36 Rue Beaurepaire, 75010 Paris, France Hours – Monday…

Le comptoir general – A step back into Africa

Le comptoir general – A step back into Africa

By on October 13, 2013. Posted in , .

A must do if you’re open to alternative stuff is “le comptoir general”: a trendy bar, very conceptual, which aims to replicate a feeling of African colonial bar while promoting African cultures and denunciating the colonization. The African lager is tasty and the the punch cocktails are tricky. A lot of cool people on the…

Exploring on a Sunday

Exploring on a Sunday

By on October 13, 2013. Posted in .

For Sunday, go around 1pm to “le marché des enfants rouges” which is some kind of trendy market where cool people hang out and get brunch: www.les-enfants-rouges.com , and also described on spotted by locals    From there you can take a walk into “le marais” and explore the area, like rue des rosier, rue vieille…

Explore Montmartre – view, bars, get lost in small streets

Explore Montmartre – view, bars, get lost in small streets

My best pick for day activities will be “Montmartre”. You can access through metro “Pigalle” and walk towards the Sacré Coeur cathedral which offer a great view of Paris, for free. You can chill out in the park below it. The inside of the cathedral is definitively worth it. Then walk on the left side…

First timer? Walk around the main attractions

First timer? Walk around the main attractions

Start at metro 8 Invalides and take a quick look at the surrounding monuments including “Les Invalides”. Cross the Bridge “Pont Alexandre 3”, walk towards the Champs-Elysés (the Grand Palais and Petit Palais will be respectively on your left and right). Once on the Champ-Elysées, walk up the avenue. You may consider meandering in few…
